Fall 2024 Rec Season

Registration is Now Open

CYSL Rec Soccer is an intra-club league for age groups Micro to U13. Rec soccer is open to boys and girls with birth years of 2020 – 2012.


  • Registration available: 14 June – 23 August 
  • Registration Closes 23 August. After 23 August, players will be placed on the waitlist and placed on a team IF space is available.

  • SEASON practices will begin the week of 25 August 2024.
  • All practices and games are at Tidelands Park 
  • All practices occur Monday through Friday.
  • Practice Days are determined by Volunteer Coaches
  • Micros and U8s - one day per week for one hour
  • U10 and U12- two days per week for one hour


  • All games are on SATURDAYS
  • All games will be at Tidelands Park
  • Games begin September 7, 2024
  • Last game Nov 09, 2024
  • Teams are assembled by CYSL Director of Rec Soccer, Mr. Chong Hunter.
  • Once teams are finalized, your volunteer coach will email you with your practice day and time. 

Age Groups

  • Under 6: U6 (Micros) (born in 2019-2020) play 4 v 4 (two side by side fields)
  • Under 8: U8 (born in 2017-2018) play 7 v 7
  • Under 10 : U10 (born in 2015-2016) play 7 v 7
  • Under 12 Travel Team:  U12 (born in 2013-2014) play 9 v 9
  • SuperRec: U13 (born 2012-2014) play 7 v 7 or 9 v 9 (depends on number of players)

CO-ED Age Groups (other age groups depends on number of players)

  • Micros (will be 4 or 5 yrs in 2024)
  • SuperRec (will be 10 or 12 yrs in 2024)


  • Micros - 2019-2020 - $175.00
  • U8 - 2017-2018 - $225.00
  • U10 - 2015-2016- $265.00
  • U12 Travel - 2013-2014 - $295.00
  • SuperRec – 2012-2013 - $295.00

What's Included in Fee:  

  • Uniform - Player jersey, shorts, and socks
  • Picture package
  • Field set up and take down

Military Discount:

A Military discount is available for rank E7 and below. A copy of the LES must be submitted to The military discount is $50.00 per player if approved. All families must pay in full online. If the request is approved, we will refund the $50.00 to your credit card on file or mail you a check. Please allow 7-14 days for the request to be approved and for the credit to be applied. We will notify via email of the approval and the credit once processed.

Cancellation Policy:

  • Full refund until 25 August 2024 (first week of practice)
  • No refund after 25 August 2024


  • Season ending injury (written doctor’s proof required)
  • Must be within 15 days of the injury
  • Pro-rated refund will be calculated based on date of injury and time frame remaining until the end of the season (last game scheduled)

U 12 Travel Team

  • We are offering a U12 recreational travel team option for the Fall Season (one boys and one girls team).
  • Typical schedule: 8-9 games. Half the games will be at Tidelands Park, half the games will be at another San Diego field location.
  • Games are on Saturdays. Practices are two days per week (which days/times TBD)

For U12 travel teams, we need a minimum of 13 players interested to participate in this recreational league. If we have more than 14 interested players, we will potentially host a “try-out” for these two teams (boys/girls). Date/Time of try-outs is TBD.  If we do not have enough interested players, then all U12/U13 players will participate in SuperRec division.

  • We will do our best to honor ONE request per player (friend, coach, practice day etc.) but there are no guarantees. No requests taken after 23 August 2024.
  • Requests to play up or play down must be approved by the Director of Rec Soccer.
